Open Houses

We are pleased to announce the dates of our Open Houses. Please note some Open Houses are specific to particular majors at Cornish College. If you are interested in attending, please RSVP by using the online form below or by calling 800.726.ARTS.

Cornish Overview at the Main Campus Center

This comprehensive, general introduction to Cornish includes a presentation on the College, its six major degree programs, important information on how and when to apply for admission, and the financial aid and scholarship process. Time is allotted for questions. The event includes a campus tour of Main Campus Center, Kerry Hall, and the residential facilities. Approximate time: 3 hours. RSVP is required.

  • Saturday, October 1, 2011, 10 am
  • Sunday, December 4, 2011, 12 pm

Departmental Open Houses

These open houses are perfect for the student who is interested in a specific program (major) and would like to learn more about it from the Department Chair and students in the program. Includes a tour of campus. Designed to give prospective students specific information on the program and what it's like to be a student in that department. RSVP is required.

Theater and Performance Production Open House at the Main Campus Center

  • Saturday, November 5, 2011, 12 – 4:30 pm
  • Theater Students: Audition workshop, improv class, musical theater workshop, monologue coaching and more. Come prepared to move!
  • Performance Production students: Department overview and portfolio tips with the department chair. Meet the student designers of our current shows. Tour the Scene Shop, Costume Shop and back stage of the current show. "Light Box" demonstration and workshop as well.
  • Complimentary tickets will be available for shows throughout the weekend.

Dance Open House at Kerry Hall

  • Friday, November 18th, 2011 from 11 – 5 pm
  • Observe technique classes, rehearsals, and try a Modern class if you like.
  • Audition opportunity available on Thursday, November 17. Call 800.726.ARTS to reserve your spot.
  • Cornish Dance Theater will present the Fall Concert November 18-19. Comp tickets will be available for all Open House attendees.

Music Open House at Kerry Hall

  • Sunday, November 20, 2011, 12 – 5 pm
  • Department Overview, Student and faculty performances, master classes and a jam session. Bring your instrument.
  • Audition opportunity on Saturday, November 19. Call 800.726.ARTS to reserve your spot.

Art and Design Open House at the Main Campus Center

  • Saturday, November 19, 10 am – 2 pm
  • Overview of both visual programs at the college
  • Includes a portfolio workshop to help prepare you for the admission process.
  • Students are invited to bring a portfolio for a preliminary review of your work.
