Jazz violinist and Cornish alumnus Eyvind Kang (Music '93) returns with Grass featuring legendary trombonists Stuart Dempster and Julian Priester, trumpeter Cuong Vu, vocalist Jessika Kenney (Music '07) and others. Kang and his nine-piece ensemble explore musical structures or "monadologies" of improvisation "guided from within the sounds, with respect to the sound as conscious entities, and informed by new discoveries in acoustics and psychoacoustics."
